The last outing of the season will take place on Thursday 27 August 2026 at the Waterford Suir Valley Railway, Kilmeaden, with guide Alan Moore.
Meet at the WSVR at 6.30pm
The historic settlement of Kilmeaden, received a boost in the 1870s when the Waterford to Dungarvan railway was constructed by the Rosslare to Fishguard Railway Company and a station was opened. This was a transformative Victorian-era transport project and over subsequent decades Kilmeaden Station became a hub for the local community and an important part of the economy of this part of Waterford.
On this outing Alan Moore, Waterford Suir Valley Railway, will outline the history of the railway and Kilmeaden Station and how the WSVR is seeking to protect and enhance our railway heritage while providing a unique tourist attraction.
